Himalayan Pink Salt Night Light

It seems everyone has been talking about Himalayan Rock Salt Lamps and I was delighted I was asked to review this night light.  Rock Salt Lamps come in many different sizes and the larger they are, the more expensive they are.  Salt lamps are each hand carved and each completely unique both in color and shape.

This one I was given to review is actually a plug in night light, and they aren’t that expensive, so it can allow you to check out salt lamps and see if they are for you without spending far more on larger ones.

These lamps are heavy, even this nightlight, although rather large for a night light is pretty darn heavy and that surprised me a bit.  My particular one has a very nice shape and a beautiful pinkish/amber color to it.  When turned on, I have to admit the color is stunning.

So what is the deal with Salt Lamps and what are their benefits?

• Salt Lamps turn positive ions in the air and transforms them into negative ions which neutralize the electormagnetic  radiation caused by all of our electronics.  This in turn can reduce stress, fatique and help your immune system.
• Salt Lamps take in moist air, and trap the  pollutants such as smoke, pollen, dust etc   This reduces allergy symptoms as well as cleaning and deodorizing the air.

One of the best things about writing a review blog is you are able to test out items you never knew existed like this Naipo Wireless Eye Massager with Heat & Music.

When it came time to actually test the item prior to writing this blog post, I had been suffering from a mild headache all day, probably caused by stress over having 200 things to do today.

Now this mask fits over your eyes and has sections inside of it that inflate, like back massagers.  You can choose to have different music selections on in every mode.  Music selections are actually calming sounds such as crickets, bubbling brook etc.  The modes you can choose from are:

Sleep Mode:  This mode has the air compressor on, so you will get the massage effect and the heat is on.  You can choose to have th

Medium Mode:  This one lasts for 15 minutes and there is heat and vibration in this mode, but no air compressor.

Hard Mode:  This one lasts for 20 minutes and includes heat, vibration and the air compressor as well.

My favorite was the hard mode.  I have to admit, I was taken aback by the feel of it at first, almost like having a blood pressure cuff on, but within 30 seconds, I was noticing that I was very much enjoying the massage it was creating, especially around my temples.  After about 5 minutes in this mode, I also noticed I no longer had a headache.

This device is charged via USB and the cable comes with the product, but what they also include is a wall plug for the USB cord.  This is a rarity, since it is the first product I have reviewed that included a wall plug, all other products you had to plug into your laptop or use your own wall plug.  It’s little things like this that show me this company cares about the customers complete experience.

If you suffer from stress, headaches etc. this might just be the thing you need to relax you and make your day better.

Plemo Trekking Sticks

If you hike, you need these!

I was visiting Lake Louise, Alberta and we would go for daily walks along the lake in front of the Fairmont Lake Louise where we were staying.  Sure, there were other hikes we could do, like up to Mirror Lake or the Tea House, however they were pretty strenuous uphill hikes in the mountains.  I had the will, however, my knee issues made it clear it just wasn’t an option.

During the course of our hikes though we came across people using what we thought were ski poles and we thought it rather odd, and yes a bit funny.  One afternoon however I happened to talk to a woman using them and she informed me they were trekking sticks/poles and they were a huge help when hiking.

We decided to check them out at the Outfitting shop inside the hotel.  I found out you use less energy when using them.  They can be used to test things like water levels, check for loose rocks, and even fend off animals.

They also took the stress off knees, especially going down hill and you could actually walk faster with them, than without them.  I was sold and that very day we tested them out.  I must say that I could not believe how much they helped.  They made me feel more secure in my footing, allowed me to “dig in” when I needed to and much to my surprise enabled me to do the long, harder hikes.  Yes, that includes that Tea House up in the mountains.

Sadly I lost my pair in a move but was delighted to get this pair.  The Plemo set can be adjusted in height and comes with little cup things that are best in mud or sand.  They look great, they are comfortable and will make all the difference in the world especially if you have knee issues or stability problems.

White Noise Machine

Falling asleep made easy

While I generally don’t have a problem falling asleep I usually wake numerous times during the night, and sometimes I just can’t get back to sleep because my brain won’t turn off.  I will start worrying about everything I have to do the next day, worry about this or that and before you know it I’ve been awake for a couple of hours and that means I will wake up tired and who wants to start the day like that?

Now I have heard of white noise and the benefits but I wasn’t sure it was for me.  I was intrigued by this noise machine because it has so many different choices.  You can choose between White Noise, Rain, Birds, Brook, Lullaby 1, Lullaby 2, Ocean ,Thunderstorm.

My personal favorite is Thunderstorm.  When there is a wicked storm pounding down outside my window I sleep like a baby and the white noise machine gives me that same feeling.  Other features include an alarm clock, a timer to have shut down the white noise after so many hours, date and time.  This is a great way to help yourself or the little one’s in the house get some sleep so they can remain well rested.

Pilgrim Teo Aromatherapy Diffuser

For those with discerning tastes

I have expensive tastes and would rather have one very nice thing than 10 cheap things because the more expensive item will generally be better made and therefore last longer and it is generally more unique looking and I will probably not tire of it as easily.

This folks is one exquisite looking Cool Mist Humidifier.  It is made of real Beech Wood on the bottom that is silky smooth.  On the top is unglazed ceramic in the same ridged pattern.  It looks modern, it looks rustic, it looks simply perfect!

Now most aromatherapy units go through this 7 color light change which is nice, but I am so glad they chose not to do it with this one as I think it would cheapen it.  Instead they just have a warm white light that you can leave on, or have it slowly dim and brighten.

Now something of this quality does come at a more expensive price but to me it is totally worth it as I would rather have just one and it look like this than several cheaper looking ones around the house.

EchoAcc Ultrasonic Humidifier

This is the highest capacity cool mist humidifier I have ever come across and it has impressed me.  Not only does it have a 1.5 liter capacity (about 6 cups) it allows you to crank up the output so you can add more moisture than other humidifiers are capable of.

It’s also pretty with all of the cut outs of butterflies and flowers and even better when the lights are turned on it slowly goes through a very nice color range.  It also has an auto shut off in case you run out of water, and like all other cool mist humidifiers they are made for adding Essential Oils to if you so desire, but really aren’t necessary if you are just looking to up the humidity a bit in the room.

With it’s smart looks and extra large capacity at a reasonable price, this Aromatherapy Diffuser is a winner!

AIHO Essential Oil Fan

Needs no water!

Essential Oil Diffusers are the latest thing.  Many people swear by the benefits of essential oils.  Most of us have seen products with Lavender in it to assist in relaxation and sleep, and there are many more oils to help with anxiety etc.  Most oil diffusers however are also cool mist humidifiers which means they distribute a cool mist into the air that is scented.  That is nice if you want some extra humidity in your room, but not everyone wants that.  Others are looking for a small portable option they can bring to work, different rooms in the house, on vacation and even in their car.

The AIHO essential oil fan is the solution to distributing essential oils without use of water.  The diffuser has a little pad inside that you add the oil to, so there is absolutely nothing that can spill.  It runs off of 2 AA batteries or USB which makes it completely portable and the are small enough to slip into a purse.  I would feel more comfortable with this unit in a child’s room rather than a cool mist one so I wouldn’t have to worry about them spilling water.

As with pretty well all diffusers they do have rotating lights and this one runs through a standard 7 color range.  You do have the ability to keep it on one color, or have no light at all.

This diffuser is also on the lower end of the price scale which is also very nice and it puts it in the price range of a nice gift that won’t break the bank and it is available in both white and black.

Anton Essential Oil Diffuser

Pilgrim Collection Aromatherapy

There are so many sizes and styles of cool mist humidifiers that there is one to suit every taste.  The Anton, part of the Pilgrim Collection and designed in Italy is a two tone diffuser and is red on the bottom and white on top.  The red is more clay red than candy apple red and is matte and not shiny.  It does go through 7 different color changes on top when turned on.  It is not a large diffuser, only holding 140ml’s so it makes a great option for smaller areas such as bedside tables.  If you have trouble sleeping or relaxing at night, giving aromatherapy a try might just solve your problems.   Using a diffuser is easy, just put a few drops of an essential oil in the little well inside the diffuser, add water, put the lid on and turn it on, simple as that.

Although this diffuser only has 1 button, by clicking on it a different number of times you control what it does.  You can choose the mist to be on continuously or alternate between being on for 30 seconds and then off for 30 seconds.  You can also let it go through the 7 colors or have it on just one color or not have a light on at all.  The extra options allow you to run it the way it suits you best.

2 NICE Foot File Callus Remover

One thing that I dislike is crunchy bits of skin, calluses and rough skin.  I am not one of those people who are naturally callus free, I tend to get them the heels of my feet and I hate them.  I have spent a small fortune on pedicures to keep the calluses at bay but sometimes with my busy schedule it was hard to schedule one in.

I had tried hand files, pumice stones etc. at home, but they were a lot of work and they didn’t give me the results that I was hoping for.  Well everything changed when I discovered these callus removers.  They grind down any rough skin, without any discomfort and do it rather quickly. This doesn’t just work on feet calluses, but works well on things like calluses you may develop on your hands from gripping things like golf clubs etc.  And these aren’t expensive either and when you factor in the money you would save on pedicures they can be a real money saver.  You may still want to go for pedicures, but now you can wait until you need an actual polish change rather than when your feet are getting rough.  You can also start doing all your pedicures at home and they will look salon quality.
